McGill Faculty of Law alumni were reunited at a cocktail function held at Thomson Reuters’ Bay Street office in Toronto on Nov. 14.
McGill hosts alumni events in various cities, such as Toronto and New York City, for alumni outside of Montreal.
During the event, the law school's dean, Robert Leckey, along with Borden Ladner Gervais LLP partner Eva Krajewska and Thomson Reuters' managing director, Legal Canada, Australia & New Zealand, Neil Sternthal, delivered speeches to the large and lively crowd of guests.All alumni of the law school, each speaker celebrated the past and present success of McGill Faculty of Law and shared their hopes for an exciting future.
Dean Leckey said in his speech that McGill's law school ranked 13th among a list of the top law schools worldwide, according to Times Higher Education. This ranking was based on five categories: teaching, research, citations, international outlook and industry income.
He also discussed his hopes for the future of the law school, especially during a time of much innovation in the legal profession.
Cocktails and hors d’oeuvres were served during the event as guests mingled.
