Ferris heads Lawson Lundell’s commercial litigation group
Craig Ferris, partner at Lawson Lundell LLP, has been named president of the Law Society of British Columbia for 2020.
“It is a great honour to be elected by your peers to this position, and a testament to Craig’s standing in British Columbia’s legal community,” said a news release dated Jan. 13 from the firm’s website.
Ferris has been a partner of the firm for over two decades. He currently heads the firm’s commercial litigation group.
He focuses his practice on commercial and business litigation. He has advised clients in cases involving pensions, securities, insurance, product liability, mining and real estate. He has also handled private arbitrations and class actions. Aside from appearing in all levels of court in B.C., he has also appeared in the Supreme Court of Canada.
Outside of his work with the firm, Ferris is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and Litigation Counsel of America. He is a member of Canadian Defence Lawyers Association, Vancouver Board of Trade, Canadian Bar Association and the Advocates’ Society.
