Lawyers Financial is starting the new year with plans to amp up its investment program by offering a solution for every type of investor.

“We recognize that different clients have different needs,” says Andrea Tang, CFA, manager of investment products. “It’s time to bring our investment solutions on par with our full suite of insurance products.”

That’s why Lawyers Financial is focused on building a spectrum of investment options for members of the legal community, whether they’re early in their careers or already retired. Tang compares investors to runners: “From those who want to blaze their own path to those more comfortable on a paved road, Lawyers Financial aims to offer a strategy for all.”

“It’s your race, but you’re not alone,” Tang says, noting that their experienced network of financial advisors is there to serve as a pace-maker of sorts to help keep clients focused on their long-term goals.

Lawyers Financial already entered 2021 with a curated selection of 20 managed funds for clients who invest with advice. This month brings the launch of the firm’s partnership with Qtrade to meet the needs of investors who prefer to go-it-alone.

Tang says the next solution they’ll sponsor is a Robo-Advisor, which will give investors access to more support. These low-cost, professionally managed portfolios of ETFs are recommended based on the client’s investment objectives, risk tolerance and time horizon. This comes with features like auto-rebalancing to help keep investment objectives on track.

“It’s a great way for busy people to invest in their future with limited effort,” she says, adding the launch of Robo-Advisor is in its final stages of development.

Later this year, Lawyers Financial plans to round out its investment platform with a Private Wealth solution for those investors who have more complex financial planning needs. Tang sees this as “a one-stop shop” with professionals who can help manage everything from investments and insurance to other wealth services like estate and tax planning.

Tang says Lawyers Financial is not-for-profit, so their goal is to help lawyers achieve their goals with high-quality, low-cost solutions that suit all types of investors.
