Canadian Lawyer's inaugural Law Firm Economics Survey now open

Survey will provide law firm benchmarks on demographics, areas of growth, legal fees and staffing

Canadian Lawyer's inaugural Law Firm Economics Survey now open

Canadian Lawyer has launched its inaugural Law Firm Economics survey.

Having identified a gap in the market for performance benchmarks specific to law firms in Canada, Canadian Lawyer has expanded its existing survey on legal fees to focus on the broader economic health of law firms in Canada.

The purpose of this survey is to accumulate data for a comprehensive benchmarking report that will help law firm leaders compare their firm’s performance with other firms based on size, geographic location, practice area and other criteria.

Readers are invited to take part and share a bit of information— from firm demographics to areas of revenue growth and trends in legal fees and staffing levels as well as average costs for the most frequently provided legal services at both regional and national levels.

Please note all identifying information will be kept strictly confidential and results will only be reported in the aggregate.

The results will be broken down into regional and national categories and by size of firm. This will help make it easier to gauge the economic health of Canadian law firms and will serve as a scale to compare trends over time.

The survey is open online until Friday, March 12.
