Munk will join broker’s Canadian executive team
Lesley Munk has been appointed as senior vice president and associate general counsel for the Canadian operations of NFP Corp., an insurance broker and consultant. She will spearhead the company’s legal efforts in Canada.
The role will require Munk to work closely with NFP’s business leaders in Canada as a part of the Canadian executive leadership team, to maximize opportunities within the company’s diversified business, to help in mitigating risk and to handle transactions, acquisitions and tactical legal and regulatory initiatives centred in Canada.
Munk has over 18 years of focused legal experience. Over the course of nine years, Munk held different legal roles for RSA Canada, an insurance company, including vice president, legal and general counsel; director, legal; and senior legal counsel.
Munk was also a lawyer in the business law department of Fogler, Rubinoff LLP in Toronto, where she focused her practice on M&A, private equity and financial services transactions. She received her LLB from Osgoode Hall Law School at York University in 2002.
Munk will report to Evan Michael, NFP’s executive vice president, general counsel.
“She possesses the qualities we embrace at NFP — exemplary experience and integrity, specialized expertise, and a focus on client service — and will be an excellent partner in our ongoing growth in Canada,” Michael said, describing Munk in NFP’s news release.
“I look forward to supporting the market expansion in Canada as NFP continues to forge partnerships and make strategic acquisitions to elevate and expand the customized solutions it provides to clients,” said Munk in the news release.
