Bérubé takes the reins from outgoing GC Charlene Ripley
SNC-Lavalin has announced the appointment of Andrée-Claude Bérubé as executive vice-president and general counsel, effective Dec. 1, 2022. She will be taking over leadership of the company’s legal affairs and integrity team from Charlene Ripley who leaves to pursue a new opportunity.
Since joining the company in 2020 as associate general counsel and corporate secretary, Bérubé has been working closely with the board of directors and the business to improve the company's governance practices. She has recently led the legal team's strategic transformation, implementing digital technologies and efficiency-driven initiatives to better serve the business.
Based in Montreal, Bérubé will report to Ian L. Edwards, president and CEO, in her new role. She also joins the executive committee at the professional services and project management company.

Prior to joining SNC-Lavalin, Bérubé was associate general counsel and assistant corporate Secretary at Sherritt International Corporation, a global mining and refining company. Over ten years, she held various leadership positions in Toronto, Madagascar, and Cuba. Before Sherritt, she also spent ten years McCarthy Tétrault.
Since joining SNC-Lavalin three years ago, Ripley has played a key role in supporting the company’s transformation – particularly in the strategic transformation of the legal team – and resolving long-standing litigation matters.
