Four law firms made new announcements
Welcome to this week’s roundup of movements among major law firms, in which we sum up significant hires, promotions, departures, and other announcements.
Dentons Canada LLP
Kristal Allen has joined as a partner in the firm’s corporate and venture technology and emerging growth groups in Calgary. She practises corporate and commercial law. She has advised clients in the technology, energy and agribusiness sectors. She was admitted to the Alberta bar in 2009 and the Saskatchewan bar in 2005.
Allen said that innovation and technology are at the core of her practice, and she expressed excitement about joining a team with “unparalleled resources for startups and emerging growth companies.”

Fasken
Eric Blondeau has joined Fasken’s corporate/commercial group as a partner at the firm’s Montreal office. Blondeau is a seasoned lawyer in asset management, investment funds, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate transactions.

McMillan LLP
McMillan has recently welcomed Conner Wylie as an associate in the firm’s Vancouver office. He specializes in regulatory affairs, corporate governance, competition, antitrust and foreign investment.
Sotos LLP
Sotos has welcomed Krupa Shah as an associate in the firm’s litigation department. Shah’s experience encompasses competition, government liability, and product liability. She earned her law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School, where she was an active member of the mooting program. She was an oralist in several competitions, including the Davies’ Corporate/Securities Moot, the Bowman Tax Moot, and the Dentons’ Canada Negotiation Competition. While in law school, she volunteered with Pro Bono Law Ontario, helping self-represented litigants navigate the litigation process in small claims court.
