2023 Lexpert Rising Stars revealed

Winners are making a difference in both the profession and wider community

2023 Lexpert Rising Stars revealed

Lexpert has revealed the winners of this year’s annual Rising Stars Awards for leading lawyers under 40.

The awards showcased the law profession’s brightest young stars in law firms, in-house departments, and other practices. This year’s Rising Stars gala was held at Toronto’s Liberty Grand. More than 450 people were in attendance.

The event’s host was award-winning business journalist Amanda Lang. The keynote address was delivered by tech entrepreneur and angel investor Nicole Verkindt, founder of OMX, an online supply chain data analytics business, and once named Canada’s Woman Entrepreneur of the Year by Startup Canada.

Lexpert invited the legal sector to nominate qualified lawyers who had made outstanding contributions to the profession in their careers thus far. Shortlisted submissions were forwarded to the advisory panel composed of 39 esteemed leaders and experts within the legal profession. They voted and produced 81 Rising Stars. The winners are profiled in the November Lexpert Special Edition.

Here is the list of the 2023 Lexpert Rising Stars.

Lexpert received an overwhelming response to the call to nominations, making the judges’ job selecting the list a tough one. Lexpert congratulates all winners.

Lexpert thanks event partner Fasken; innovation partner Dye & Durham; and silver sponsors LEAP, Blake Cassels & Graydon LLP, and Norton Rose Fulbright. Organized by Key Media, Lexpert Rising Stars’ supporting publications were Canadian Lawyer, Law Times, and Canadian Lawyer InHouse.

We would also like to thank the advisory panel for their time devoted to selecting and awarding excellence.
