Welcome to this week’s roundup of movements among major law firms, in which we sum up significant hires, promotions, departures, and other announcements.
Aird & Berlis LLP
The firm has welcomed Yosef Adler, Ryan Ghuman and Queenie Lo as partners and members of the firm's corporate or commercial group. Adler's practice involves advising purchasers and vendors in local, national and international mergers and acquisitions. He optimizes corporate structures, secures equity and debt financing, advises on shareholder disputes, and structures and negotiates business transactions.
Meanwhile, Ghuman is a trusted advisor and problem-solver who navigates complex commercial and business law matters. His practice focuses on corporate and commercial law, emphasizing mergers and acquisitions and private equity transactions. Lo practises all corporate and commercial law aspects, focusing on co-ownership, joint venture and partnership structuring, as well as shareholders and management agreements.
Clark Wilson LLP
The firm has announced the appointment of Emily Clough as managing partner. Clough is an estates and trusts lawyer with an extensive legal practice. She has held multiple leadership roles at the firm, including her role with Clark Wilson's executive committee, advising on strategic direction and development.
Crawley MacKewn Brush LLP
The firm has welcomed commercial and securities litigator Linda Fuerst as a partner. Fuerst's legal career began in criminal defence at Cooper Sandler before she joined the Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) enforcement branch. She worked for 20 years at the Toronto litigation boutique Lenczner Slaght LLP, where she became one of the trusted counsels for high-stakes securities and regulatory matters. From 2015 to 2023, she practised at the global full-service law firm Norton Rose Fulbright, where she dealt with cross-border securities matters, including class actions and internal investigations into potential corporate misconduct.
"Linda's breadth of expertise in commercial and securities litigation and her impressive track record in high-profile cases will be invaluable to our firm and our clients," said managing partner Matthew Scott.
Dentons Canada
Dentons Canada has welcomed Wasiu Omotoso as a partner in the firm's Infrastructure and Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) group in Toronto. Omotoso brings a depth of expertise representing domestic and international clients on developing, procuring, and financing infrastructure, energy and construction projects.

George Street Law Group LLP
Brad Wiseman has joined George Street Law Group LLP. He specializes in estate, trust and capacity litigation. Before joining George Street Law Group LLP, he worked with Ross & McBride LLP for 18 years.
Lerners LLP
Lerners has announced the appointment of Tammy Ring as managing partner in the firm's Toronto office. Ring is a senior partner in the firm's plaintiff personal injury group. She joined Lerners in 2008, became a member of the Diversity and Inclusion Steering Committee and sat as a member of the firm's Executive Committee from 2020 until 2022.
Lax O'Sullivan Lisus Gottlieb LLP
Michael Currie was named as the firm's newest partner. His practice includes all aspects of business litigation, focusing on contractual disputes, franchise agreements, oppression claims, and injunctions. He has appeared before all levels of Ontario court and acted for clients in mediation and arbitrations.
McMillan LLP
The firm has welcomed new partners Melodie Eng, Christina Kobi, and associate Alyssa Girardi.
